Job Overview

Redeemer's Grace is a small, young church planted in 2017 in far west Wichita. Our core values of WORD, PRAYER, and MISSION shape our work of exalting and proclaiming Christ in a largely secular community with a significant Roman Catholic cultural influence. Our current worship leader has served us well, but his job is transferring him out of the city at the end of August. Currently meeting in rented space, we are looking for our first permanent building and hope to be in that space by the end of 2024.

We are doctrinally reformed Baptists and embrace theologically rich, Gospel-centered, and Gospel-saturated music of various styles from various historical periods. As first priority, we value Christ-like character and a heart that loves God and his people. Next, some musical skills are obviously necessary for the job, but we are willing to allow time for growth as a musician and would encourage ongoing growth in all areas regardless of the skill level at the beginning. The paid position would provide a nice supplement to a full-time salary and require somewhere between 6–10 hours a week.

Job Description

RGC elders teach and guard the scriptural doctrines that define and shape biblically regulated worship and rely heavily on the worship leader to plan and lead the congregation in a way consistent with those doctrines. The Worship Leader is

• the primary planner for weekly worship
• the musical leader for the congregation and musicians
• the technical lead for all things tech, including the live stream and ProPresenter. (As a rule, these things function well will little need of attention every week. But when it fails, the worship leader becomes the lead troubleshooter.)
• engaged with the elders as needed for prayer, planning, and evaluation
• a member of the community of Christians at Redeemer's Grace Church.
