Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities

• Worship Service Planning & Execution: Develop and implement worship services that align with the church's mission and culture.
• Team Coordination: Recruit, train, and coordinate musicians and volunteers to ensure a cohesive worship team.
• Music Selection & Preparation: Research, select, and introduce music that supports the worship experience, ensuring alignment with theological and cultural context.
• Music Resource Management: Prepare and distribute necessary materials, including lyric sheets, chord charts, sheet music, and digital media (e.g., ProPresenter, YouTube, Planning Center, etc).
• Equipment Oversight: Maintain and manage all music and sound equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Team Development: Organize workshops to introduce new music, enhance skills, build team unity, and encourage spiritual renewal.
• Team Engagement: Plan and coordinate annual team outings and learning opportunities to foster growth and connection.
• Auditions & Talent Development: Design and lead audition processes to identify and integrate new team members.
• Spiritual Leadership & Team Building: Lead prayer, worship, and team-building activities during rehearsals and gatherings.
• Collaboration with Ministry Teams: Work closely with other church teams to coordinate services and special events.
• Technical & Aesthetic Oversight: Ensure all technical and visual aspects of worship services are effectively managed, coordinating volunteers in these areas.
• Mission Alignment: Partner with Elders, staff, and volunteers to fulfill the church's mission of "Helping People Know Jesus and Grow to Be Like Jesus" within both the church and the broader community.
• Worship Calendar Planning: Develop, implement, and evaluate the annual worship calendar, including service formats, themes, and special programs to support a dynamic worship ministry.
• Participation: Responsibilities include regular participation in staff meetings, occasional attendance at elder meetings, and additional duties as assigned.

• Possesses the temperament, interpersonal skills, and emotional intelligence to engage effectively with the congregation.

Education and Skills

• Proficiency in leading worship with a strong vocal ability. Ability to lead with a guitar or keyboard is necessary.
• Well-versed in current worship technology (A/V and multimedia; Pro-Presenter; Planning Center.)
• Quality verbal and written communication skills, with computer proficiency.
• Minimum of five years of worship ministry experience is preferred (including as a volunteer).

Hours

• The Worship Director is a part-time contract position, estimated at 15 hours per week which includes mid-week rehearsal and Sunday morning worship service.
• Additional responsibilities and expansion of role will be considered based on alignment of applicant's skill set and the church's needs.
