The Worship Director at Way Church will lead our community in passionate, Christ-centered worship that reflects the beauty and mission of Jesus. This role involves cultivating a worship culture rooted in excellence, authenticity, and spiritual depth, while building and developing volunteer teams to help create environments of wonder and welcome. The Worship Director will collaborate with the Lead Pastor on creative planning, oversee musical and technical elements of our Sunday gatherings, and ensure every worship experience invites people to encounter the presence of God and respond with their whole lives.

Overview:

Way Church is a new church plant in Spring Hill, KS, with a mission to live the way of Jesus for the renewal of the world. We're seeking a Worship Director who can craft and lead contemporary, enthusiastic worship experiences that help people encounter the presence of God. This leader will be both a passionate worshipper and a strategic builder—someone who thrives in a startup culture, equips volunteers, and leverages systems and technology to multiply ministry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead Worship weekly with vocal and instrumental excellence in a contemporary style that is passionate, engaging, and theologically sound.
• Build & Shepherd Teams by recruiting, training, and developing volunteer musicians, vocalists, and production leaders.
• Create Meaningful Worship Environments that reflect Way Church's cultural pillar of Beauty—spaces of welcome and wonder.
• Plan Services in collaboration with the Lead Pastor using Planning Center and a shared vision for creative, Spirit-led gatherings.
• Run Systems including audio/visual tech, tracks (Ableton or similar), ProPresenter, and Planning Center.
• Utilize Technology & AI Tools responsibly to streamline workflows, build setlists, manage scheduling, organize databases, and enhance creative development.
• Contribute Creatively to church communication, branding, and media as needed.

Ideal Candidate Will:

• Have experience leading worship in a contemporary church setting with a heart for the local church and church planting.
• Be a strong vocalist and competent instrumentalist (guitar or keys preferred).
• Be organized and systems-minded, with experience using Planning Center, Ableton/Tracks, and digital tools.
• Understand how to integrate AI tools ethically and effectively into day-to-day ministry tasks (i.e. team communication, planning, content generation).
• Thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, startup environment.
• Be passionate about spiritual formation, beauty, and the power of worship to shape hearts.
