POSITION AVAILABLE – Worship Leader

Purpose:

Ashland Church is seeking to add a Music Worship Leader with a strong and abiding faith in Jesus Christ and a commitment to Ashland Church's mission of "building an inspired community that creatively and compassionately connects people to Jesus Christ".

Job Description

Responsibilities:

The Music Worship Leader will help administer and guide the Church's music program. Work with the pastor, to plan and implement music for the Church's services of worship, including congregational, as well as solo, duet, and occasional group presentations.

Qualifications:

Have the ability to play an instrument (preferably guitar or keyboard), sing, and guide others in leading the congregation in worship.

Be familiar with various Christian musical styles.

We sing mostly contemporary Christian music with occasional traditional hymns. Be well organized, and motivated, and possess effective communication and teaching skills. Have a working knowledge of computer technology, including the preparation of lyric slides for worship, and a working knowledge of sound systems.

Recruit and encourage musical talent.

Position:

Part-Time: 10-20 hours per week a) one evening for rehearsal – currently Thursday evenings but could change, if necessary, b) Sunday mornings for rehearsal and the worship service, and c) office hours for planning.

Growth:

This position has the ability to grow with more hours and additional pay, depending on the growth strategies of the music program and/or using other gifts that benefit the overall ministry of Ashland church.

Compensation:

Starting at $10,000 – $20,000 per year based on hours and experience.
