Job Overview

The Worship Leader is to lead the Sunday worship gatherings of the church, and secondarily oversee the gathering of small groups. In addition, the Worship Leader takes ownership of the worship room, including but not limited to the production elements of sound, lighting, livestream, and technology, and more. The Worship Leader will ensure everything aligns to the mission of the church to boldly proclaim the Gospel and to motivate believers to maturity in Christ. In addition, the Worship Leader will personally embody our church core values of being a biblical, vibrant, and loving church.

Purpose: The purpose of the Worship Leader is to help FBCDG be a vibrant gathering place for people to know Jesus, grow in Jesus, and go share Jesus with others. The Worship Leader will work on developing a worship environment that connects to the hearts of all who come, particularly focusing on a worship experience with the next generation in mind. The Worship Leader will strategically implement ways to get new people get connected to small groups, seeing small groups as an extension of the church gathered on Sunday's.

Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Worship and Production Leader
   • Lead all worship gatherings at FBCDG, including but not limited to:
     1. Sunday morning service
     2. Grove Students Sunday Nights and Wednesday Nights

• Downers Grove Christian School chapels

1. Funerals (as requested and as available)
2. Communicate regularly with FBCDG staff and DGCS for gathering-related activities

• Plan and execute worship sets through planning center
• Coordinate with band members and singers for Sunday's
• Innovate ways to meaningfully help people encounter Jesus in our worship gatherings
• Recruit new volunteers to serve within their giftedness
• Build up a Grove Students student – led worship team.
• Oversee all production elements in the worship room, including but not limited to the production elements of sound, lighting, livestream, and technology
• Responsible for overseeing, maintaining, and maximizing the worship budget as a faithful steward of church resources.

1. Small Group Coordinator
   • Be the primary champion and communicator for FBCDG small groups
   • Help connect people from pews to small groups
   • Meet regularly with small group leaders for care, help, and support

1. Alignment with mission and statement of faith
   • Affirm alignment with our church mission, to boldly proclaim the Gospel and motivate believers to maturity in Jesus.
   • Affirm alignment with our church statement of faith as a place of theological unity.
