Position Title: Worship Leader

Full Time

Overview:

Vertical Church Gallipolis is seeking a passionate and skilled Worship Leader to join our team full-time. The Worship Leader will play a vital role in planning and leading worship services, fostering a culture of discipleship, and mentoring a team of musicians and worshippers. This position is ideal for a mature and growing believer with strong musical abilities, leadership skills, and a heart for worship and discipleship.

Location:

Vertical Church Gallipolis

Responsibilities:

Plan with the elders and lead worship services, including song selection, arrangement, and overall worship flow. Lead worship for all church services, events, and special occasions. Collaborate with the worship team to ensure cohesive and engaging worship experiences. Conduct regular team meetings, rehearsals, and training sessions. Mentor and develop musicians and worship team members, encouraging their spiritual and musical growth. Engage with the congregation to understand and respond to their worship needs. Create and maintain worship resources, such as chord charts, lyrics, and arrangements. Oversee the technical aspects of worship, including sound, lighting, and multimedia. Participate in church leadership meetings and contribute to the overall vision and mission of the church.

Shows a teachable spirit and a willingness to learn and grow both spiritually and professionally. If married, united in ministry, growing together in Christ, and caring for one-another.

Discipleship Culture:

• Actively participates in the church’s discipleship programs and initiatives.

• Invests in personal discipleship relationships and small groups.

• Encourages and fosters a culture of discipleship within the worship team and the broader church community.

Skills and Abilities:

Worship Leading:

Possesses strong vocal and musical abilities to lead congregational singing effectively. Has a heart for worship and can engage the congregation in glorifying Jesus in worship. Understands the flow of worship and can create a seamless worship set. Understands the components of a worship service, keeping in line with Vertical’s theology and philosophy of worship.

Team Building:

Demonstrates strong leadership and organizational skills. Able to build, mentor, and motivate a diverse worship team. Communicates clearly and effectively with team members and church staff. Encourages and develops the gifts and talents of others within the team.

Multi-Instrumental Proficiency:

Proficient in playing multiple instruments commonly used in worship settings (e.g., guitar, piano, drums, etc.). Can lead worship from different instruments, adapting to various worship styles and settings. Willing to continually improve and expand musical skills.

Qualifications:

Qualify to be a member of Vertical Church Gallipolis. Previous experience in worship leading is required. Demonstrates a heart for serving the church and a commitment to its mission and values. Possesses a servant’s heart, humility, and a desire to grow relationally, spiritually and musically.
