Worship Leader
I. PRINCIPAL FUNCTION
1. The Worship Leader is responsible to the Senior Pastor for the development, organization, promotion and leading of the Christ-centered worship of the church. This is a part-time position serving approximately 20 hours per week.
II. QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Demonstrates an active and personal walk with Jesus Christ.
2. Able to maintain confidence in personal and church related matters, being mindful of the entire church body.
3. Experienced and able to read & lead music for a choir or praise team.
4. Demonstrate excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills. Able to work well with other people.
5. Alignment with Round Hill Baptist Church's mission, vision, and Southern Baptist Doctrine. Serving as an Active Member in the Church.
6. Proficient with Planning Center, Pro Presenter, and other media tools as they relate to worship services.
III. RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assist the Senior Pastor in planning congregational services of the church; be responsible for the selection of the music and preparation of schedule for musicians to provide offertories and preludes.
2. Direct the planning, coordination, and operation of a comprehensive music program.
3. Coordinate the church music program with the calendar and emphasis of the church. Direct congregational singing, choir practice, and other related music programs.
4. Responsible for sound checks prior to worship and participate in the preservice meeting.
5. Promote the music ministry of the church and enlist new participants.
6. Supervise and maintain additions to the music library as well as appropriate license on music and media used.
7. Utilize current music methods, materials, and promotion where appropriate.
8. In the event of a necessary absence, the worship leader is responsible for securing his/her replacement and notifying the Pastor or Chairmen of the Deacons.
9. In the event of a necessary absence of the Pianist and/or Organist, the Worship leader is responsible for securing a replacement.
10. Actively participate in weekly (Wednesday and Sunday) services and activities.
IV. BENEFITS: Salaries, Vacations, Sick Leave, Absences...
1. Approximate salary range is $850 to $950 bi-weekly
2. Vacation – Vacation requires prior notice to and be reviewed by the Senior Pastor on an individual basis. The worship leader should secure a replacement in advance of their absence.
i. After six months of employment, 1 week paid vacation, which includes 1 Sunday and Wednesday may be taken. After 1 year of continuous service an employee is entitled to two weeks vacation, including 2 Sundays and Wednesdays.
ii. Vacation is not carried over to the following year without approval of the Senior Pastor.
3. The Worship Leader is granted 1 week for conferences and conventions as approved by the Senior Pastor.
4. Sick Leave will be evaluated on an individual basis and approved by the Senior Pastor.
5. Absences – In the event of excessive absences an evaluation with the Senior Pastor and the Personnel Team will be conducted.
