Calvary Church in Maumee, OH, is a vibrant and growing Assemblies of God congregation led by Lead Pastor Chad Gilligan. The church currently offers three Sunday morning services at 8:30a, 10:00a, and 11:30a, with a modern worship style, drawing in a diverse congregation from Maumee and the greater Toledo area.
Calvary is in an exciting season as they prepare to move into a new 1,500 seat worship auditorium equipped with the latest AVL systems. The church is seeking the right candidate to take over as the new Worship Pastor to oversee their entire worship and production ministry. The right candidate will have a deep personal life in Christ and the character and capacity that align with the church's overall mission and vision. Below are the qualifications and responsibilities Froot Group and the church have identified for this role:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Spiritual & Musical Leadership
- Lead worship regularly, modeling authentic, Spirit-led engagement that invites the congregation to participate.
- Maintain a balanced song catalog that aligns with Calvary's theological and cultural values, building engagement through a healthy mix of familiar and new songs.
- Arrange and direct music with excellence, ensuring the band and vocal teams are prepared and confident.
Team Development & Pastoral Care
- Provide leadership and pastoral care for the worship and production teams, including two full-time production staff and other leaders.
- Create and maintain a development pipeline for musicians and tech volunteers through auditions, onboarding, training, and ongoing growth.
- Build a healthy, grace-filled culture that holds to high standards while caring for team members personally and spiritually.
Technical & Production Oversight
- Partner with production staff to ensure excellence in audio, lighting, video, and livestream.
- Lead worship and production teams through the new auditorium transition, integrating new gear and updated workflows.
- Maintain enough technical understanding to resource and guide the production team effectively while allowing them to operate in their strengths.
Collaboration & Administration
- Align worship ministry vision with the Lead Pastor and broader church mission.
- Partner with Student Ministry leadership to develop student worship under the Worship Ministry umbrella.
- Manage budgets and service planning in systems like Planning Center, ensuring clear communication and preparation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A mature, growing relationship with Jesus Christ and a lifestyle that reflects biblical character and integrity.
- Full agreement with the Assemblies of God Statement of Fundamental Truths and comfort with Spirit-filled ministry practices as they are expressed at Calvary.
- Proficiency on a primary instrument (guitar preferred) and strong vocal leadership skills; advanced understanding of modern worship leadership and arrangement.
- Working knowledge of worship technology (Ableton, ProPresenter, sound systems, lighting, livestream production) with the ability to lead a production staff and navigate technical upgrades.
- Proven ability to build and lead healthy teams, develop leaders, and maintain high standards of excellence while fostering a culture of grace and community.
- Strong administrative, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to plan and execute both weekly services and long-term ministry goals.
- Education
- No college degree required, though Bachelor's preferred.
- Experience
- 5+ years of worship leadership experience in a church of 500+ attendance, including staff leadership and volunteer development.
