Worship Pastor/Director
The Worship Pastor/Director at Restoration Community Church serves as a pastoral leader responsible for shepherding the congregation into biblical worship that goes beyond musical performance to facilitate a genuine encounter with truth. The right leader will bring musical leadership and creative direction to guide the family of believers into Christ-centered worship. Collaborating closely with the Senior Pastor and media team, this leader plans and prepares gatherings designed to foster authenticity, excellence, and active congregational engagement by celebrating the good news of Jesus with unity and joy. Beyond the platform, this person will be dedicated to recruiting and developing musicians, vocalists, and volunteers, cultivating a culture of excellence and unity, mentoring younger generations and growing the overall understanding and culture of worship.
The Worship Pastor/Director's responsibilities include:
Responsibilities Plan, prepare, and lead weekly Sunday worship gatherings, ensuring a Christ-centered focus that fosters authenticity and excellence. Lead and oversee rehearsals for vocalists and musicians, ensuring musical preparedness while maximizing limited practice time. Coordinate closely with the Senior Pastor on song selection and service flow, acting as a reliable partner to facilitate a cohesive message and spontaneous moments of ministry. Lead worship for other church events, including worship nights, midweek gatherings, and special services such as Christmas Eve and Good Friday. Maintain a strong connection with the Media/Tech teams to ensure excellence in sound, lighting, and presentation, and assisting in improving the quality of the online experience. Recruit, train, and develop a diverse team of musicians and vocalists, effectively managing volunteers to build a unified ministry. Shepherd the congregation into biblical worship, moving beyond musical performance to facilitate genuine encounters with truth and active congregational participation. Curate a musical environment with variety that incorporates modern worship, hymns, and gospel elements to engage a multi-generational congregation. Mentor and invest in the next generation to bridge the gap between youth bands and Sunday services. Manage the administrative operations of the ministry, including scheduling via Planning Center, maintaining the music library, and overseeing the ministry budget. Cultivate a team culture of humility and unity that prioritizes serving the congregation as you lead them to worship. Arrange music as needed, creating charts, scores, or adapting songs to fit the specific talent and instrumentation available within the team. Participate in staff leadership, attending meetings and collaborating with other ministries to support the overall vision and mission of the church.

Unifying Peacemaker: A relational bridge-builder who fosters joy and trust, actively connecting across ministry departments and also across a diverse congregation to create a sense of family. Reliable Self-Starter: Shows ownership and consistent follow-through, serving as a reliable partner to the Senior Pastor and the RCC team who can be trusted to execute the vision without constant micromanagement. Doctrinal Alignment and Commitment to RCC: Agrees with RCC's theological positions and is willing to become a member of the church.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Theological Depth and Integration: The ability to select songs and craft service flows that prioritize biblical truth and align with the church's identity. Musical Proficiency and Arrangement: Overall musical proficiency and the ability to create charts or arrange songs to fit the specific instrumentation and talent levels of the team. Spiritual Sensitivity and Spontaneity: The intuition to sense the movement of the Holy Spirit during a service and the flexibility to pivot from the planned order of worship in real-time to facilitate genuine, Spirit-led ministry moments. Technical Ability: Functional knowledge of worship planning and production software, specifically Planning Center, ProPresenter, and Ableton. Emotional Intelligence and Conflict Resolution: High relational IQ to navigate team dynamics, specifically bridging the gap between musicians and vocalists, and intentionally preventing silos between ministries within RCC. Scalable Leadership: The ability to adapt leadership energy and resources to the unique rhythm of a seasonal community, managing the flux between smaller winter gatherings and large summer crowds. Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written ability to articulate vision and foster consistent, clear communication with volunteers and leadership.
