Worship Pastor
Job Overview
The Worship Pastor will be responsible for the overall leadership of the worship ministries at the Waupun Campus.
While championing Edgewood's DNA (Gospel, Community, Mission), his three primary responsibilities will be to:
- Shepherd the congregation through corporate worship.
- Develop, disciple, and lead the Worship Team and Tech Team.
- Oversee Worship Arts and Technology at the Waupun Campus.

Qualifications
Character
- Evidence the qualifications for spiritual leadership as found in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9.
- Have an authentic and growing relationship with the Lord, practicing the spiritual habits that we desire to reproduce in our ministry.
- Have an authentic and honest awareness of his heart with compassion for the lost and hurting as well as, discernment for life and its struggles.
- A self-starter who functions well in an environment with minimal oversight, able to creatively and effectively accomplish the work of the ministry.
- Be teachable, humble, and growing in the fruit of the Spirit.
Education and Experience
- Seminary or special training in ministry is preferred, being a lifelong learner is a necessity.
- Experiencing God's grace, restoration, and growth through difficult personal circumstances is invaluable to shepherding God's people.
- At least 3-5 years' experience in a church leadership role is preferred.
- Aligned with the EFCA Statement of Faith, credentialed (or willingness to be) by the EFCA.
Practical Skills
- A skilled worship leader with strong vocal and instrumental (guitar or piano) abilities.
- Relationship-oriented, with a genuine desire to build authentic connections with volunteer team members and the congregation.
- A clear ability to mentor team members in their growth. This includes developing musicians and tech team members in their skill, growing individuals into leaders, and helping people realize and step into their potential.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.14. Demonstrated proficiency in the technical arts of worship (audio mixing, audio systems, ProPresenter, live streaming technology, broadcast cameras, etc.) or possessing a strong aptitude to master these systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Shepherding Through Worship
- Shape the corporate worship life of the campus by designing worship gatherings that help the congregation engage with God, not just observe a performance. Select songs with robust theology that draw people into greater intimacy with God, weaving in Scripture and prayer, and leading in a way that invites participation.
- Lead with a pastor's heart, always considering how the elements of a service can minister to people in various stages of faith and life.
- Coordinate and support worship for other ministry events (e.g., Good Friday, Christmas Eve, worship nights, weddings, funerals), ensuring they align with our church's mission and values.
Developing and Shepherding Ministry Teams
- Invest in the spiritual health and skill of the worship and tech teams. Build a culture of discipleship where team members are cared for, prayed for, and encouraged in their walk with Christ.
- Identify, recruit, and audition new volunteers who have an authentic faith.
- Through intentional coaching, prayer, and evaluation, create an environment where team members are valued, developed in their gifts, and released into well-fitting roles.
- Look for opportunities, like conferences or training, to equip key leaders and invest in the growth of the entire team.
- A leader of leaders who finds gratification in developing, empowering, and equipping others. This role measures success not by their own visibility, but by their ability to multiply impact through the growth and effectiveness of their team.
Stewarding/Leading Worship Arts and Technology
- Oversee the tools that support our worship gatherings.
- Lead the tech team to ensure that audio, visual, and lighting elements enhance the worship gatherings with quality and without distraction.
- Think intentionally and biblically about how we use technology in and plan worship gatherings.
- Strategically create and thoughtfully implement streamlined, organized, empowering structures and processes for volunteers.
- Take responsibility for the aesthetic and design elements of the worship space, creating an environment that is both welcoming and conducive to worship.
Pastoral Responsibilities
- This role is fundamentally pastoral. While centered on corporate worship, the Worship Pastor serves first as a shepherd, called and equipped to care for the flock.
- This pastoral function may include sharing in general duties such as providing pastoral care, conducting baptisms and visitation, leading communion, and occasional preaching and teaching.
- The focus of the role is leading people, not just songs, and pointing them to Christ in all aspects of life and, ministry.
