Roots Community Church exists to be used by God in creating multiplying communities of fully devoted followers of Christ. We desire to be an Outpost for God's Kingdom in the Roosevelt & Ravenna neighborhoods, Seattle, and beyond.

JOB OVERVIEW

The role of the worship and media pastor/director is to foster an environment for people to encounter the presence of Christ through music and creative elements and to shepherd the church in worshiping God. The worship and media pastor/director is responsible for assisting all creative efforts of the church to present the gospel and guide those in the church into a deeper relationship with Christ.

We are looking for a leader who will passionately point people to Jesus. Who will raise up Christ, and guide our church to worship Him through a mix of high intensity praise and confession/contemplative worship.

AREAS OF FOCUS

Worship

• Lead regular band practices and meetings in preparation for Roots Events and regular Sunday Gatherings
• Oversee worship ministry at all Roots events
• Train Worship Team in "Best Practices" regarding worship music and Sunday Gathering etiquette.
• Help Roots congregation grow in their understanding of worship by presenting moments of worship theology during Sunday services.

Media

• Work alongside media team volunteers to implement any changes to sound/media
• Work with the media team leader and oversee team growth and development
• Oversee all media purchases and future purchase plans
• Understand and gain knowledge on all sound/media equipment within Roots and be able to teach Media team volunteers.

Creative Planning

• Assist the Roots Creative team with any needed graphics, content, or music
• Work with others in the church to record audio needed for Roots videos
• Help shoot and produce Roots videos for church
• Create set designs for Roots Livestream and in-person gatherings

Pastoral

• Work alongside pastors to provide pastoral care to church congregants
• Personally shepherd and disciple those within your ministry
• Attend pastoral meetings and regular retreats

General Responsibilities

• Have a personal relationship with Christ and continue to grow in your faith through personal devotion to God's Word, Prayer, and seeking the Lord within the church community.
• Shepherd and lead the worship and media serve teams and volunteers
• Meet with team members on a monthly and quarterly basis (depending on level of involvement)
• Build, direct, coordinate, and develop the worship and media serve teams at Roots
• Coordinating with pastors and admin staff to host regular Sunday Gatherings
• Provide pastoral care for volunteers, church attendees, and those in outreach areas of the church.
• Work with church staff to plan and execute multiple events yearly
• Lead for Sunday Service flow
• Planning Center Administrator
