Job Overview
Shepherd Staff is honored to be working with High Sierra Fellowship in Gardnerville, NV, as they search for their next Worship Director. High Sierra Fellowship is a flourishing church dedicated to making disciples and upholding biblical teachings. It's recognized for its strong theological foundation and verse-by-verse preaching, earning it a reputation as "the church that teaches the Word." The Worship Director role at High Sierra Fellowship presents an exciting opportunity to lead worship in a vibrant, multi-generational congregation in the most conservative area of Nevada. The church has a rich history of blending modernized hymns and contemporary worship songs, creating a diverse musical style that resonates with the membership. The new Worship Director will have the chance to build upon this foundation and further develop the excellence of the worship ministry, which has been described as exceptional under previous leadership.
The ideal candidate will be:
- Relational shepherd who is capable of building teams and developing others
- Musically literate, knowledgeable of both blended and contemporary worship styles. Can musically train others
- Theologically thoughtful approach to worship, aligns song selection and ministry approach with the theological convictions of the church
- Driven self-starter who can organize and scale the present ministry
- Organized and administratively confident
POSITION OVERVIEW
The church's worship features a rich and diverse musical style, blending modern hymns with contemporary artists like Phil Wickham, the Gettys, and Matt Redman. This ministry is grounded in strong theological convictions, ensuring song selections are doctrinally sound and intentionally avoid music from groups such as Bethel, Hillsong, and Elevation. While the foundation is strong and the ministry holds significant potential, the current worship teams operate with varied approaches to rehearsals and song choices. A new Worship Director is essential to unify these teams and cultivate leaders under a cohesive, theologically centered vision for worship.
RESPONSIBILITIES
