Youth and Young Adult Leader

Job Overview

We recognize the vital importance of Biblical training and faith development for youth and young adults. We see this ministry as a high calling to disciple and equip the next generation. We are seeking a passionate and relational leader to disciple the next generation and build vibrant youth (Grades 6 – 12) and young adults (18+) ministries.

This part-time position focuses on fostering deepening relationships with Christ, developing leadership in young people and helping them engage meaningfully with the broader church family and community.

The ideal candidate will have competed or nearly completed a Bachelor of Theology or related degree and has demonstrated experience in ministry leadership, preferably with the stated age group(s). In addition, this individual will have:

• A growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ marked by humility and service;

• Proven strong relational and discipleship skills;

• Proficiency with MS office and digital communication skills;

• Experience with Planning Centre.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

1. Youth Ministry (Grades 6–12)

• Provide vision and leadership for the growth and spiritual health of GBC's Youth Ministry.

• Recruit, develop, and lead a volunteer team to support weekly programming and events.

• Plan and implement engaging weekly gatherings, discipleship opportunities, and outreach events (e.g., retreats, service projects).

• Foster strong relationships with youth and their families, including regular parent communication and occasional family events.

• Encourage intergenerational involvement by connecting youth to the life and ministry of the broader church.

2. Young Adults Ministry (Age 18+)

• Lead and develop a dynamic Young Adults Ministry, promoting spiritual maturity and relational connection.

• Create intentional spaces for teaching, fellowship, and spiritual formation.

• Support young adults as they navigate life transitions, including post-secondary education, early career, and faith development.

• Identify and equip emerging leaders among young adults for broader church involvement.

3. Team Participation & Accountability

• Meet regularly with the Executive Pastor for planning, support, and evaluation.

• Participate in church staff meetings and training events as requested.

• Collaborate with other ministry leaders to support overall church discipleship goals.
