Youth Director/Assistant Teacher: The Way Christian Academy

Details/Description of Assistant Teacher Duties

Working in a Christian Education environment (K to 12 grade levels)

Assigned to Middle & High School Learning Center

This is NOT a teaching position, but the Director will assist the learning center teacher.

Hours full-time: 8 hours

Assist the Learning Center Supervisor (educator) with:

· Assigned classwork

· Visiting cubicles where students do classwork to answer questions from their workbook/textbook material

· Assist with student breaks in between subject changes, i.e., science to social studies/history, etc.

· Assist with distributing equipment, laptops and devices for virtual math work and other projects, i.e., science, lab, forensic projects, etc.

· Assist with lunch breaks

· Conduct small group discussions, rap sessions, and Bible studies

· Attend Monday afternoon Staff Meetings

· Supervised by Learning Center Supervisor & Church Pastor

Details/Description of Youth Director Duties

· Connecting non-churched middle & high school students to our church

· Friday evening Youth Services

· Discipling adolescents

· Teaching adolescents leadership skills

· Teaching God's Word

· Occasional Saturday evangelism with the Youth team

· Must become a member of the Church; attend Sunday services to help transition youth to church services & conduct Sunday Morning Teen Bible Studies

· Scheduling outings, i.e., bowling, local Christian concerts, etc.

· Sports activity, i.e., basketball, volleyball, etc.
