Youth Director – First United Methodist Church Redondo Beach  

Excited About One’s Faith?

First United Methodist Church in Redondo Beach is looking for someone who is excited about one’s faith, and who enjoys lifting up middle and high schoolers to appreciate the journey of faith.  The Youth Director would be an integral part of the Family Ministry at the church teaching the younger generation old and new ways to grow the younger generation’s faith.  FUMCRB is an intergenerational community which values dialogue, creativity and compassion as ways to enrich the faith of all.

The Ideal Candidate would be:

• Ready to plan fun, friendly, inclusive and safe youth events, which would include a balance of fellowship, service, and faith exploration activities.  The youth group is for middle and high school aged youth.  Some events would be integrated with Family Ministry events such as Vacation Bible School (this year: June 17-21), Advent and Lent activities. Lead summer SSP mission trip (this year July 13-21).
• Someone who is creative and outgoing with a strong theological foundation for sharing faith with young people.
• A great communicator,  using digital and social media, as well as Google suite.
• A great collaborator with staff and volunteers.
• Youth work experience and a college degree from an accredited university desired.
