Youth Director/Pastor
Job Overview
South Shore Baptist Church in Hingham, MA is seeking a full-time leader for our youth ministry. SSBC is a reformed complementarian Baptist church that is over 75 years old. We are a regional church, and this is reflected in our student ministry. Our approximately 60 students represent over 20 different schools. Our youth ministry is comprised of students in grades 6-12. SSBC has a rich history of healthy and dynamic youth ministry.
The right person for this job will be a man or woman who is deeply relational, excellent at administration, an engaging teacher, and a capable team-leader. We are also looking for an approach to youth ministry that is high energy, creative, and fun, while focusing intentionally on spiritual development and growth. We do not desire a shallow circus, nor do we want little seminary. We are striving for an environment that is irresistible to teenagers and produces real followers of Jesus Christ.
We understand that not many are called to lifelong youth ministry, so this position may be for someone who has their eyes on a different ministry position down the road. We welcome this and offer this clarity. We will give you every effort to expand your skills and prepare you for future ministry. Also, while you are at SSBC we want you to be all-in on teenagers. We love our teens dearly. They are a vital part of our congregation. We want them to have every resource that helps them know and follow Jesus Christ. The leader of this ministry is a vital part of the equation, so we want you to thrive in this position.
