Part Time Youth Director Job Description

Job Summary: This part time position (15-20 hours per week) is responsible for ministry to ages 0-12th Grade.

Ages 0-5th Grade.

He is responsible to oversee and lead an organized kids' ministry, including Nursery, Sunday School and any other gatherings.

Ages 6th-12th Grade.

The Youth Director will be tasked with launching and leading a well-organized and sustainable student ministry.

General

The Youth Director will collaborate with the Pastor for ministry mentorship. The Youth Director will do ministry that mobilizes the members of PMBC (He will not be expected to do the ministry all himself).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Youth Director will lead ages 0-12th Grade through the organized development of a healthy ministry models involving recruiting volunteers and being creative with engaging kids (0-5th grades), students (6th-12thgrades), and their families.

Kids' Ministry

• Meet with Kids Team on a regular basis to develop ideas, outreach events, fun outings, and generally discuss the development of the kids' ministry. • Organize Sunday morning curriculum monthly and weekly for Kids Team. • Ensure Sunday morning materials are resourced and ready to go for Kids Team. • Launch and resource Sunday School for ages 0-5th grades. • Lead the planning of Vacation Bible School, Trunk or Treat and other kids-focused outreach events.

Student Ministry

• Launch a student ministry through the recruitment of students and volunteers to serve in student ministry. • Lead the teaching of the student ministry. • Meet with the Student Ministry Team on a regular basis to develop ideas, outreach events, fun outings and generally discuss the development of the student ministry. • Launch and resource Sunday School for ages 6th-12th grades.

Other

• Other duties as assigned by the Pastor. • The Youth Director will report directly to the Pastor.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• No formal education required, but Bible and/or ministry education preferred. • Demonstrated proficiency in the Bible. • Paid or unpaid experience working in ministry in some capacity (Example: small group leader, youth leader, kids' ministry worker, church administration, etc.).
