Position Summary:

The Minister of Youth is a part-time or full-time position (TBD) that will lead and shepherd the youth ministry (Grades 6–12) at FBC Waskom. This role involves planning, promoting, and overseeing all aspects of youth discipleship, outreach, and activities. The ideal candidate has a strong walk with Christ, a heart for students, and a collaborative spirit.

Primary Responsibilities:

Discipleship & Teaching:

• Lead and develop Bible studies for Sunday morning, Sunday evening, and Wednesday evening youth programs.
• The Wednesday evening schedule with align with the Waskom ISD School calendar.
• Enlist and train Sunday School teachers and youth workers in coordination with the Teachers and Officers Committee.
• Provide spiritual guidance and mentorship to young people.

Outreach & Engagement:

• Lead a youth outreach ministry within the church and community.
• Foster a strong ministry presence in local schools.
• Use clubs or events at the schools like First Priority, Good News Club and FCA.

Events & Activities:

• Plan and coordinate events such as VBS, Disciple Now, camps, retreats, mission trips, community outreach, fund-raising activities and fellowship events.
• Accompany and ensure adequate adult supervision and chaperones for all off-campus and overnight activities.
• Create a working calendar for events, programs and Bible studies.

Administration:

• Develop and manage the youth ministry budget.
• Submit plans for events and ministries in partnership with the Youth Committee and church leadership.

Church Involvement:

• Assist the pastor with visitation as needed.
• Collaborate with the Senior Pastor and staff to support the broader ministries of the church.
• Attend staff meetings and take on additional duties as requested by the pastor.

Qualifications:

• A growing and vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ.
• A clear calling to youth ministry.
• Ability to teach Scripture clearly and relate well to students and parents.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ministry experience and/or theological education preferred.
