Job Overview
Westminster EPC Church in Bluefield, WV is seeking a Youth Minister. We recognize that youth face unique challenges, and our desire is to help them meet and know Jesus – that they may thrive in flourish through Christian faith. Westminster has a history of vibrant youth ministry. The program is well-funded, with excellent resources and facilities. Currently, we have a core of 25-35 middle and high school youth. We value the Christian nurture of our own youth, and feel we have the potential to expand our reach, Lord willing. We are looking for a candidate who loves God, loves others, and has a heart for young people.
Job Description
Responsibilities
- Lead weekly youth group meetings and small groups, as well as monthly youth activities.
- Continue the outreach to Bluefield High School by leading the school's weekly Bible Club that Westminster initiated.
- Plan and implement summer opportunities for youth, to include such things as summer camp, mission trips, service projects, and fun events.
- Equip youth for life with the knowledge of the gospel and the scriptures.
- Develop personal relationships with youth, mentoring and guiding them through this formative stage of life.
- Have fun with youth, demonstrating that the Christian life can be filled with joy, enthusiasm, and adventure.
- Attend activities (sports, theatre, etc) that youth are engaged in.
- Participate in the church's Christian Growth Team, which meets monthly.
- Come alongside parents when possible, offering support and equipping them in their parental roles.
