• Clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a growing relationship with Him.
• Agreement with Gate City Church's statement of faith, mission, and values.
• A love for students and their families with a heart for discipleship.
• Strong leadership, relational and teaching skills.
• Ability to recruit, equip, and lead volunteers.
• Previous student ministry experience strongly desired. Bachelor's degree or seminary degree in ministry or related field, preferred.
• A lifestyle congruent with the biblical requirements for leaders (1 Tim. 3:1-13; 2 Tim. 2; Titus 1:5-9).

Responsibilities Include

• Provide overall leadership and direction for the Junior High and High School ministry.
• Develop a clear vision and strategy for student discipleship, outreach, and spiritual growth under the direction senior leadership.
• Create a safe, welcoming, and Christ-centered environment where students can belong and grow in their faith.
• Leading Weekly Gatherings, Bible studies and Discipleship programs.
• Review all curriculum used by Gate City Church's student ministry and ensure that they are consistent with GCC's doctrinal commitments.
• Caring for students and families through mentorship and pastoral support.
• Raising Up and training leaders and volunteers to multiply ministry.
• Using Technology and media to communicate, connect and disciple.
• Assist in our cafe operations as needed.

Personal Expectations:

• Demonstrate a personal commitment to the life, mission and ministry of Gate City Church.
• Attend and actively participate in weekly staff meetings and other all staff and church wide events (Baptisms, Weddings, Funerals etc.).

• Maintain availability and be reachable by staff, volunteers, students and families.
• Live a life of integrity that reflects Christ inside and outside the church.
• Demonstrate a servant-leader attitude with a teachable spirit.
• Participate as a leader in "All-hands" Gate City Church events, as directed.
