SALARY Based on Experience ; Based on Full or Part-time Position

LOCATION: Metter, GA (70 Miles West of Savannah, GA)

POSITION DESCRIPTION: Cedar Street Baptist Church in Metter, Georgia is actively seeking either a part-time or full-time Youth and Children Pastor to join the ministry staff of our growing congregation. This position's primary responsibility would be to teach and shepherd the middle school and high school students of our church. Potential full-time candidates would also serve in additional administrative roles such as superintendent of our children's programs and support for our church office. The ideal candidate must have a sound theological background with a firm foundation of essential Christian truths that are in alignment with the Baptist Faith & Message (2000).

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: The responsibilities of this position may include but are not limited to the following: -Teach youth every Wednesday and Sunday -Prepare and share Bible lesson plans with Senior Pastor and adult volunteers -Communicate consistently with youth parents concerning lessons, events, and key issues -Conduct weekly visits with youth at designated community events -Coordinate special events including lock-ins, camps, conferences, and community outreach -Attend periodic discipleship meetings under the mentorship of the Senior Pastor -Participate in various morning and evening worship services throughout the year -Full-time candidates would also assist department leaders in coordinating volunteer lists, event schedules, databases, permission forms, curriculum, and other materials for our Nursery, Tiny Tots, Children's Church and CS/Kids programs

POSITION REQUIREMENTS: All applicants must meet the following requirements to be considered for this position: -A born-again believer in Jesus Christ who has shown evidence of mature, fruit-bearing faith -A God-ordained calling to serve Christ as a leader of youth and children -Prior youth ministry experience with valid church references -Full supporter of the Baptist Faith & Message (2000) -Ability to encourage participation and collaboration with parents and committees -Competence to exercise good stewardship and accountability with youth financial budget -Commitment to work with other community churches and leaders for youth events and outreach -Desire to submit to the mentorship and direction of the Senior Pastor -Valid driver's license -Pass a criminal and financial background check
