Youth Pastor: Cross Creek Church

Summary:

The Youth Director of Cross Creek (PCA) provides oversight and leadership to ensure the ongoing effectiveness of middle and high school programs.

• Report to the Lead Pastor
• Work with staff and small group leaders
• Weekly Commitment: Part Time, 15-20 hours per week
• Pay: 15-18k

Responsibilities:

Training and Implementation

• Cross Creek Youth has best practices that the youth director will learn and apply. These include safety policies, the small group model, and discipleship.

Facilitate and administer lessons on Sunday/Wednesday Nights

• Be an active, personal, and engaged presence on Sunday and Wednesday Nights
• Prepare lessons that are both redemptive-historical and personally applicable to teenagers
  • We have used Rooted curriculum and also the Person of Jesus curriculum
• Administer well-prepared lessons with enthusiasm for the Scriptures
• Delegate lessons as needed while providing feedback to teachers

Recruit, train, and coordinate small group leaders

• Invite skilled leaders to invest in the youth group
• Provide high-quality information and best practices to small group leaders and parents
• Coordinate the efforts of small group leaders via detailed and weekly communications and follow-up

Coordinate weekly, quarterly, and annual communication with parents

• Ensure parents receive
  • A weekly newsletter
  • A seasonal report (Fall, Spring, Summer)
  • An annual meeting for prayer and questions

Coordinate Discipleship

• Recruit leaders and delegate discipleship groups
  • These discipleship groups meet outside the youth group and are comprised of no more than 4 students.

Oversee and attend Southland retreats

• Winter and Summer retreats

Position Qualifications:

Core competencies:

• Bachelor's Degree or comparable experience
• Highly relational
• Seeks to understand and grow in reformed theology
• Effective verbal and written communicator
• Experience in coordinating teams and volunteers
• A sincere heart to shepherd students into wisdom
• Theological thinker who can discern and apply the truths, hopes, and loves of the Gospel
