Position Summary:

Oversee and develop a comprehensive ministry focused on the spiritual growth and discipleship of the Youth at Elloree First Baptist Church, from 7th-12th. This position will recruit, train, and support volunteer leaders to effectively minister to youth, with a vision to see every member of Elloree First Baptist Church actively engaged in a lifelong journey of discipleship.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Vision and Strategy:

• Develop and implement a holistic student ministry strategy that aligns with the mission and vision of Elloree First Baptist Church.
• Research and implement best practices in youth discipleship, utilizing relevant resources and curriculum.

Program Development and Oversight:

Plan, coordinate, and oversee all aspects of Youth Ministry, including but not limited to:

• Student Ministry (7th-12th Grade): Sunday School, help Vacation Bible School, Summer Programs, camps, and other events.
• Youth events and activities that bring them together for worship, learning, and service.
• Develop and implement a Youth Ministry calendar that promotes consistent engagement and spiritual growth for all ages.

Leadership and Volunteer Management:

• Proactively complete background checks for all youth workers and leaders before placing them in ministry.
• Recruit, train, and equip volunteer leaders for all areas of Youth Ministry, providing ongoing support and development opportunities.
• Develop and maintain a current list of volunteers with names/addresses/phone numbers and the activity for which they have volunteered.
• Schedule all teachers, teacher substitutes, nursery workers, leaders, and other volunteers, as needed.

Curriculum and Resource Development:

• Approve all programs, curricula, and activities for Youth Ministry, ensuring alignment with biblical principles and the church's doctrinal statement.
• Select/develop age-appropriate material for individualized instruction regarding salvation, baptism, church membership, etc.

Pastoral Care and Support:

• Meet with, counsel, and pray with youth and/or parents regarding spiritual matters.
• Develop and maintain an outreach ministry to offer encouragement and support to the youth.
• Meet quarterly with Sunday School workers leaders' workers to address concerns, answer questions, keep them abreast of happenings and to plan for future.

Administration and Budget:

• Oversee budget & expenditures for the Youth Ministry, keeping within approved amounts. This includes any costs for paid workers.
• Maintain accurate records and reports for all Youth Ministry activities.
