Job Title: Associate Pastor to Students (6th Grade through College) Reports To: Senior Pastor Church: Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church Location: Baker, Florida Employment Type: Full-Time Position Summary Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church is seeking a Christ-centered, passionate, hard-working and servant-hearted Associate Pastor to Students to lead a thriving and growing student ministry. This pastor will oversee the spiritual development of middle school, high school, and college-aged students. The role includes teaching, discipling, event planning, and working closely with a Youth Council to cast vision and implement ministry initiatives that reflect the mission of our church. About Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church and the Community Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church was founded in 1888 in the town of Baker, located in the Panhandle of Florida. We are a thriving, multigenerational congregation of approximately 350 active members, committed to our mission to love God and love people. Baker is a family-oriented town rooted in traditional Southern culture. It is situated in a peaceful country setting, near the beautiful Blackwater State Forest – the Blackwater River is a popular place to go swimming or kayaking. Forty-five minutes away are the famous white sand beaches of the Emerald Coast in Destin and Pensacola, and an hour and a half away is Panama City Beach. With these beach cities so near, we have all the amenities of family fun including museums, parks, concerts, shopping, and restaurants, while being able to live in quiet, rural setting. We often say we are country life meets beach life. Within 15 minutes is the larger city of Crestview, where most of the larger chain stores and restaurants are located. Baker is in close proximity to multiple military bases including Eglin AFB, Pensacola Naval Air Station, and Tyndall AFB in Panama City, and many members of our congregation are employed by or associated with these installations. Our church connects with families from across the region, including students from Baker School (K 12), other schools within the Okaloosa County School District (Crestview predominately), as well as a community of homeschooling families. Our church family is lively and involved, with ministries that welcome and support all ages. We have an active children's ministry, a worship ministry with choir, and a network of Sunday School classes. Our congregation gathers weekly on Sundays and Wednesdays to hear biblically rich, Christ centered messages that challenge and encourage spiritual growth. Throughout the week, our members are engaged in Bible study, worship, fellowship, and outreach opportunities.
