Youth Pastor – Yakima Alliance Church

Job Title: Alliance Youth Pastor

Location: The Alliance Church, Yakima Position Type: Part-Time (20 hours/week) Reports To: Lead Pastor

Job Summary: The Alliance Church in Yakima is dedicated to equipping individuals to "bring the kingdom wherever they go." The youth ministry embodies this mission, focusing on training teens to become missionaries and move in the Spirit of God. The church seeks a Spirit-filled, relational, and evangelistic staff member to lead a newly created youth ministry team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong spiritual foundation, exceptional leadership abilities, and a heart for young people, with a particular emphasis on the "Galvanizer" working genius described by Patrick Lencioni.

Responsibilities:

  1. Pray for the Ministry:
    • Commit to regular prayer for the youth ministry, setting an example of devotion and spiritual leadership.
  2. Teach God's Word:
    • Share God's message with students in a relatable way, using a solid curriculum to guide teaching.
  3. Create Safe and Welcoming Environments:
    • Foster healthy and beneficial spaces for teaching, worship, Bible studies, and outreach activities.
  4. Build a Leadership Team:
    • Recruit and develop a diverse team of volunteers to support various aspects of the ministry.
  5. Disciple Others:
    • Guide students in their spiritual growth, helping them understand God and the Bible.
  6. Build Relationships With Families:
    • Partner with families to support their teenagers, providing regular communication and availability for meetings.
  7. Connect With Local Schools and Community Organizations:
    • Establish relationships that open doors for student service opportunities in the community.
  8. Connect the Youth Ministry With the Whole Church:
    • Ensure the youth ministry is integrated with the broader church community, facilitating mentorship and joint activities.
  9. Provide Spiritual Guidance and Counsel:
    • Offer spiritual support and counsel to students and families, especially during times of crisis.
  10. Participate in all necessary meetings and training.
  11. Additional responsibilities as needed to support the team and organization's goals.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of two years of experience or education in youth-oriented ministry.
  • Alignment with Christian and Missionary Alliance theology
