Advent Presbyterian Church sits near the Texas Medical Center in Houston, right in the middle of one of the most transient, high-pressure corners of the city. We're a young church, still being formed around the beautiful truth that God initiates, with mercy, grace, and presence. That's what our name points to, the "advent," the arrival, of Jesus. And so we want to respond with sincere hearts, grounded in God's truth, and welcome people of all faith backgrounds, whatever doubts, questions, faith, or unbelief they carry with them. On Sundays, you'll find expository preaching that takes Scripture seriously and applies it in very real world pressures that we experience in everyday life, along with worship that blends the old and the new. We're highly liturgical, drawing from the best of historic Presbyterianism and from sister denominations across time and place.
