Salem Presbyterian Church is located on SC Highway 211 between Gaffney and Hickory Grove, South Carolina. With roots dating back more than 180 years, the church’s history began as early as 1804, when believers gathered in homes and were served by ministers from neighboring Presbyterian churches. Salem was formally organized on May 31, 1840, under the care of Bethel Presbytery, and has endured through wars, the passage of time, and even the earthquake of 1886.
