Assistant Pastor of Family Ministry and Local Engagement
About Stone Hill Church
Stone Hill Church is a nondenominational, gospel-centered, Great Commission church (Matt. 28:16-20) committed to winning, building, connecting, and sending disciples for Jesus Christ.
Job Description
The Assistant Pastor of Family Ministry and Local Engagement is to cast the vision for both family discipleship and local engagement at Stone Hill. This includes teaching, equipping, and discipling the congregation in the areas of families/parenting, and evangelism/service to our local community. "Disciple" is used here to mean deepening our families in their knowledge, love, and following of Jesus in their hearts, minds, affections, and choices, as well as in their witness and service to our local community. This pastor is tasked with encouraging our church, and in particular, families to follow Jesus in a more mature, passionate, prayerful, and fruitful way. He has confidence in God's Word as a compelling and central element of family discipleship and local engagement, understanding discipleship as more than intellectual knowledge or propositional assent.
Objectives Of This Role
Serving as a member of the pastoral team and under the general supervision of the Senior Pastor, the pastor will teach and develop discipleship programs and ministries focused on families. Our vision for this role recognizes the family as critical in discipleship, and also that discipleship is a "whole church" project.
Serving as the leader of evangelism and local engagement, under the general supervision of the Senior Pastor, the pastor will oversee ministry modeling evangelism in both the proclamation of the coming kingdom and the demonstration of the nature of that kingdom.
