Assistant Pastor of Missions and Outreach: Trinity Church Kirkwood (PCA)

Job Description:

Primary Responsibilities: These responsibilities will occupy the majority of the pastor's time

– Oversees Assimilation/Welcome Ministry

– Cultivates Evangelism and Outreach Initiatives within Trinity Community

– Plans, Oversees and Conducts Community Outreach Events and Ministries

– Cultivates Civic Partnerships within the Kirkwood Community

– Manages Existing Relationships with Local Para-church Ministries

– Chair of the Overarching Trinity Mission Committee

– Liaison for World and Local Missions Committee

General Pastoral Responsibilities: These responsibilities occur regularly

– Regular preacher (At least six times annually with potential for growth)

– Rotational worship planning and liturgical leadership

– Regular teaching (SS, Connect, Officer Training, etc)

– General Pastoral Care and Visitation

– Counseling (As Needed)

– Session meetings; Presbytery and General Assembly (rotationally)

– Hospitality

Position Qualifications:

The Assistant Pastor of Missions & Outreach should possess the following traits:

– Vibrant personal faith

– Strong commitment to the Reformed Theological tradition

– Ordained or ordainable in the PCA

– Enjoys being with people

– Strong team player and commitment to the core values of Trinity Church

– Has a heart for the lost and those that are detached from the local church

– Strong preaching skills

– Good organizer/management skills

– Good motivator of people

Description of Organization

Planted in the Fall of 2006 with approximately 80 in the core group, Trinity has since grown to 325 members and has a regular Sunday worship attendance of approximately 240. Aside from the impending Assistant Pastor, the church's staff is made up of a Senior Pastor, a full time Music Director, a part-time Executive Assistant, Children's Ministry Coordinator and Youth Director. The vision of Trinity is to be a community oriented church of approximately 400 people.

Trinity is currently planting a church called Hope Presbyterian Church.

The purpose of Trinity Church is to Exalt God, Equip God's People and Engage God's world for the sake of the risen King, Jesus Christ. Trinity seeks to work out these purposes while observing the following core values:
