Job Overview
Ridgefield Baptist Church is an elder-led, congregational church in Fairfield County, serving roughly 120 people weekly with about 80 members. We hold a high view of Scripture with an emphasis on gospel-centered expositional preaching, and a 9Marks emphasis on church governance and meaningful membership. Many families call Ridgefield home and engage in the educational, cultural, developmental, social, and extracurricular activities Ridgefield offers.
As we continue to build our ministry programs for families, we are looking for a gifted pastor to help us shepherd our people and lead our ministries to families.
Job Description
This is a full pastoral position built around three areas of responsibility:
1. Youth Ministry
- Teach the weekly Bible lesson for the students on Wednesday nights.
- Run the administration and schedule coordination for the ministry.
- Keep up regular, warm communication with parents.
- Organize fun activities for the youth throughout the year to build community, identity, relationships.
- Counseling students and families as gifted and needed.
2. Children's Ministry
- Organize and lead the team that runs the weekly operation of the ministry.
- Lead our Kids Club, which meets on the first and third Sunday evenings each month, about fifteen gatherings across the year.
- Develop Children's Ministries as a strategic outreach to the greater Ridgefield community that leads toward greater support and connection.
- Maintain a relationship with Young Life/WyldLife in the local area.
3. General Pastoral Work
- Preach roughly twelve times per year.
- Teach regularly during the Sunday school equipping hour.
- Lead a small group throughout the year.
- Share in pastoral visitation, counseling, and hospital visits as gifted.
- Contribute to the elder and staff operation according to gifting and desire.
What We Are Looking For
- Theological master's degree preferred.
- Passion for gospel-centered ministry and an intergenerational church.
- Three to five years of pastoral or church ministry experience.
- Agreement with the 9Marks of a healthy church.
- Ability to relocate to the greater Ridgefield area.
- Wholehearted alignment with our foundational documents: our doctrinal statement,
- covenant, and constitution.
- A shepherd's heart for youth, children, and families.
