Job Description
The Associate Pastor leads all middle and high school discipleship efforts, equipping volunteers and partnering with parents to cultivate Christ-centered spiritual formation in the home, in keeping with Deuteronomy 6:4–9. He plans and oversees gatherings, retreats, and discipleship initiatives in alignment with the church's doctrine and intergenerational vision.
He also provides oversight to all church Serve Teams—including hospitality, ushers, connection, parking, and Midweek meals—by recruiting, training, and shepherding volunteers while developing team leaders who promote sustainable, spiritually healthy service.
Additionally, the Associate Pastor contributes to the church's teaching ministry by preaching at designated Sunday gatherings, teaching classes and Midweek Discipleship, and assisting with written and digital discipleship resources. He must meet the biblical qualifications for elder (1 Timothy 3:1–7; Titus 1:6–9; 1 Peter 5:1–3), demonstrate spiritual maturity, and faithfully handle the Word of God for the building up of the congregation (2 Timothy 2:4).
