A full-time position responsible for assisting with the pastoral needs within Local Church St. Pete. Primary focus includes oversight of discipleship environments, local and foreign mission, pastoral care, leadership development and periodic teaching.

Job Description

What You'll Do

• Shepherd the church – involves prayer, pastoral care, leadership development and discipleship.
• Participation in Sunday gatherings, including secondary preaching, prayer, communion and pastoral care.
• Oversee discipleship environments – house groups, discipleship groups, LOCAL Kids, men's and women's discipleship quarterly big meetings.
• Provide direction and care for house groups and the deacons who lead them.
• Plan and lead our Leadership Team meetings and events.
• Lead the multiplication of new house groups.
• Oversee local and foreign mission partnerships and collaborate with the ambassadors who represent them.
• Provide pastoral care. This includes biblical counseling, marriage and premarital care, weddings, funerals and visitation.
• Organize and track the assimilation of people into the life of Local Church St. Pete.
• Develop discipleship resources.
• Build relationships within the community, including local business leaders and church leaders/pastors.
• Mentor pastoral residents.

What We're Looking For

• Character and gifting must fit the biblical requirements for an Elder laid out in 1 Timothy 3:1-12; Titus 1:5-9 and Acts 20:28. Be familiar with the identity and mission found 1 Thessalonians 1:3-10 and 1 Peter 2:9-10. These are foundational passages to Local Church St. Pete.

• A love for the local church and an understanding of God's purpose for it
• Skills in communicating the bible and imparting vision
• Ability to organize, direct and motivate others
• A clear understanding and respect for biblical theology and disciple-making
• Embody the characteristics of LCSP's core values and culture
