Job Overview

Position Summary

The Associate Pastor of Administration will serve as part of the pastoral team with special focus on administration – helping the church operate with biblical wisdom, theological conviction, and practical excellence. While administration is the primary focus, this is a pastoral role. The Associate Pastor will shepherd people, equip leaders, guard healthy structures, and ensure that the church's systems serve the mission of making disciples and building up the body of Christ.

Qualifications

  • Meets the biblical qualifications for an elder/pastor as described in 1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9, and 1 Peter 5:1-4.
  • Commitment to Reformed theology
  • Commitment to Complementarianism
  • Commitment to "9-Marks" ecclesiology
  • Ability to lead teams, organize systems, manage details, problem-solve, and communicate clearly.
  • Post-graduate seminary degree or theological training preferred
  • Experience in pastoral ministry, church administration, nonprofit leadership, or leadership in a corporate environment is preferred.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Pastoral Leadership
    • Partner with elders in shepherding the congregation.
    • Oversee Grow Classes (i.e., Sunday School) rotations.
    • Teach or preach occasionally, according to gifting and need.
  • Administration & Operations
    • Help develop and oversee administrative systems for a growing church so that ministry is orderly, transparent, and missionally aligned.
    • Refine and adapt policies for wise stewardship, accountability, safety, and care for a growing church.
    • Work with staff, deacons, stewardship teams, and elders to ensure a transparent, accountable, and missionally-aligned financial process and budget.
  • Communication & Ministry Support
    • Oversee church-wide communication & media so that members are informed, equipped, and encouraged.
    • Assist the lead pastor and elders in preparing agendas, reports, ministry plans, and congregational meeting materials.
    • Coordinate with deacons and lay leaders to facilitate effective ministry execution and serve as a liaison to the elders.

Accountability

  • The Associate Pastor of Administration reports to the Senior Pastor and serves under the oversight of the elders. As an elder, he will share in the spiritual oversight of the congregation according to the church's governing documents.
