RALEIGH ROAD BAPTIST CHURCH: RRBC is a Southern Baptist Church located in Wilson, NC (40miles east of Raleigh) affiliated with the Pillar Network (www.thepillarnetwork.com) whichseeks to KNOW GOD, GROW TOGETHER, MAKE CHRIST KNOWN.
POSITION: The Associate Pastor of Family Discipleship will help develop RRBC's ministry focus tochildren and their families, with specific oversight given towards student (middle/high school)and college age ministry. As a fellow staff elder/pastor of RRBC the Associate Pastor of FamilyDiscipleship may also support RRBC in various duties such as preaching, counseling, communityoutreach, and collaborating with the Lead-Teaching Pastor on strategic church initiatives.______________________________________________________________________________
FAMILY DISCIPLESHIP BREAKDOWN:
Children's Ministry (5%): RRBC has a Kid's Ministry Director who is responsible for theday-to-day oversight and leadership of the ministry focused upon children in kindergarten – 5thgrade.
● Act as a liaison for Kid's ministry with the elders of the church● Act as a source of encouragement and communication in helping the Kid's MinistryDirector maintain a cohesive and consistent focus/philosophy with the whole of RRBC
Student Ministry (85%): The Associate Pastor of Family Discipleship WILL be responsible forhelping develop, train, and lead RRBC's ministry focus to students (e.g. middle/high school) andtheir families. Some responsibilities within this ministry oversight includes:
● Organize and lead weekly ministry gatherings● Teach and preach within the student ministry● Engage with students though school and recreational activities● Recruit, train, and equip adult members of RRBC within the student team● Help new families feel welcomed and seen as a church● Equip parents/guardians to become the primary disciple makers of their children● Oversee the student ministry calendar (e.g. trip/events) as well as student budget
College Aged Ministry (10%): RRBC currently has a ministry presence at Barton College, withpotential opportunities to serve the college community at Barton and Wilson CommunityCollege
● Act as a liaison for the college ministry with the elders of the church● Act as a source of encouragement and communication in helping those currently leadingthis ministry to maintain a cohesive and consistent focus/philosophy with the whole ofRRBC● Help develop along with the elder/pastors of RRBC a ministry focus/philosophy.
● Prayerfully determine potential involvement/oversight of this ministry focus as time,ministry desire, and wisdom allow______________________________________________________________________________
STRENGTHS, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Needed Strengths:
● Emotional maturity, humility, and teachability● Strong collaborator who leads, but also enjoys recruiting, equipping, delegating andencouraging others for mutual growth and accomplishment of goals.(i.e. someonecommitted to multiplication)● The measurable ability to communicate the gospel and a desire to teach it effectively● An outgoing and joyful disposition● Delights in the thrill of meeting new people● Strong, clear, and timely communicator● Demonstrates a pattern of integrity and honesty
Experience:
● A credible conversion testimony representing at least 6+ years● A history of faithful service in the local church representing at least 6+ years (i.e. eithervocational/nonvocational) for which ministry giftedness inpreaching/teaching/evangelism have been assessed and validated, biblical/theologicalknowledge have been affirmed, and spiritual/social/emotional maturity have beenmeasured and confirmed by the previous church/references● Must have at least 2+ years of ministry experience working with students for which agenuine passion and gifting have been established
Education:
● Required Must demonstrate a robust understanding of scripture/theology bothintellectually and practically throughout our process, through reference, and by way of ameasurable track record within the life and ministry of the local church● Preference: A Bachelor's degree in theology, ministry, or a related field; a Master'sDegree from a qualified seminary is a plus______________________________________________________________________________Employment Status: This is a full-time staff position
Compensation: $69,000-74,000
