About Sunrise Church
Sunrise Baptist Church is an established congregation with a weekly attendance of approximately 100 people. We are located in the South Hill community near Puyallup, Washington (about 10 miles southeast of Tacoma). The people of Sunrise Baptist Church are committed to Christ and to one another.
Sunrise Baptist Church is seeking a part-time Associate Pastor of Worship & Arts who faithfully pursues God's direction in prayer, possesses a true shepherd's heart, and is passionate about leading God's people in authentic, Christ-centered worship. He will be a committed follower of Jesus Christ whose life reflects the biblical qualifications of a pastor and whose beliefs align with the current Baptist Faith and Message.
We seek a man of integrity who maintains a growing, intimate walk with Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit and whose personal worship inspires others to pursue a deeper relationship with God.
He will provide spiritual and creative leadership for the worship and arts ministry, directing the planning, coordination, and implementation of worship services that support the mission and vision of Sunrise Baptist Church. He will cultivate an atmosphere of worship that encourages spiritual growth, discipleship, and meaningful engagement with God through music, media, and the arts.
The ideal candidate is humble, strong, supportive, and compassionate, with a servant's heart and a willingness to lead with transparency. He should be relational and approachable, deeply committed to the Scriptures and sound doctrine, and effective at developing and equipping volunteers, ministry leaders, instrumentalists, vocalists, and technical teams for ministry.

Associate Pastor of Worship & Arts
General
The associate pastor of worship and arts shall be a committed Christian whose life demonstrates the biblical qualifications of a pastor as outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:6-10, and Galatians 5:22-23. His beliefs shall be consistent with the Sunrise Baptist Church Constitution and the current Southern Baptist Faith and Message. His walk with God shall exemplify the teachings of the New Testament, and he will testify to a clear sense of God's call to ministry and a strong sense of God's leadership.
Job Description
The Associate pastor of worship and arts, under the direction of the senior pastor, will direct the planning, coordination, operation, and evaluation of a comprehensive worship and arts ministry that is consistent with the church's vision and mission statement.
Education and experience
The associate pastor shall have a combination of formal education and demonstrated experience in pastoral worship ministry.
Duties and responsibilities
- Work with church ministry directors as needed to implement a worship component to accomplish the vision of the church and the goals set down in worship planning.
- To direct the worship team, instrumentalists, vocalists, and audio/visual technicians to implement the worship plan.
- Supervise the maintenance of, and additions to, the music library, the streaming ministry, computers and associated software, sound equipment, and music equipment.
- To select musical materials, supplies, instruments, and other music/worship related equipment utilized in the worship ministry.
- To ensure all visual displays such as the sanctuary lighting, digital signs, slide deck, and banners are displayed in a proper fashion.
- Enlist, train, coordinate, and direct leaders for all music ministries in the church.
- Prepare an annual worship and arts budget to the senior pastor and administrative council and administer the budget.
- Coordinate with the leaders of the ushers and security teams over matters within the sanctuary and grounds.
- Perform other pastoral and administrative duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor.

Salary range: $26,000 to $38,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
