Job Overview
Redeeming Grace Church is seeking a full-time Associate Pastor to share in the pastoral leadership of a growing congregation committed to making disciples who declare and display the glory of King Jesus. The Associate Pastor will serve alongside the Senior Pastor and Elders to help the church:
- Deepen in spiritual maturity and congregational care
- Widen in evangelistic and outward engagement
- Strengthen its leadership culture and ministry infrastructure for long-term health This is a shared pastoral leadership role within the plurality of elders.
Job Description
General Pastoral Leadership
- Cultivate a vital spiritual life grounded in the ordinary means of grace
- Maintain consistent, visible presence in corporate gatherings (Sunday AM & PM), exercising leadership when appropriate
- Attend and participate fully in regular staff meetings, elders' meetings, and service reviews
- Speak into preaching, teaching, and leadership direction with thoughtful counsel
Deepen – Spiritual Maturity & Congregational Care
- Preach at least five times annually in Sunday morning gatherings
- Oversee and strengthen Home Groups, including leader recruitment, training, and ongoing care
- Provide regular biblical counseling (premarital, marital, crisis, discipleship)
- Share in pastoral visitation and member care
- Assist in membership interviews and baptism preparation
- Strengthen assimilation efforts to help prospective members meaningfully connect and remain
- Extend pastoral care to outgoing members until they are meaningfully connected to another church
- Organize and teach seasonal Equip Classes and other theological training environments
Widen – Local & Global Outreach
- Oversee and develop RGC's local outreach initiatives
- Train and mobilize members for thoughtful personal evangelism
- Organize and lead evangelistic efforts (e.g., community engagement initiatives, introductory Christianity classes)
- Develop sustainable relationships with churches, ministries, and community partners
Strengthen – Leadership & Ministry Infrastructure
- Identify and develop emerging ministry leaders
- Serve as the primary elder liaison to the deacons
- Provide regular training, guidance, and evaluation of deacon ministry
- Assist in evaluating and refining ministry systems and processes for scalability and effectiveness
Qualifications
- Meets the biblical qualifications for an elder (1 Timothy 3; Titus 1)
- Demonstrated pastoral fruit within a local church context
- Theologically trained (Master's-level degree preferred)
- Strong alignment with RGC's theological and ministry commitments (9Marks DNA for easy reference)
- Relationally and emotionally mature
Compensation
- To be agreed upon at hire. The Associate Pastor salary and benefits package is designed to support a one income household in the Greater Phoenix Metro.
