The Associate Pastor of Youth and ... is a Full-Time Salaried/Exempt position (between 40–50 hours a week) that supports the mission of Westwind Church through overseeing all aspects of our youth and ... ministries. Possible options to make it a full time position would be one of the following: worship, families, small groups, or executive responsibilities. (Package between $50,000-$60,000 depending on experience with expense account, mileage reimbursement and two weeks paid vacation).
What You'll Lead // Roles and Responsibilities
Youth
Work with the Lead Pastor in providing spiritual oversight for our students and their families. Plan weekly Wednesday youth gatherings throughout the school year and special events throughout the year (outreach events, seminars, conferences, etc.) Recruit, train, and support youth ministry leaders and volunteers through regular communication. Be active, present, and engaged in the overall life of the church. Participating in a Life Group and filing the pulpit on Sunday mornings when assigned by the Lead Pastor. Management of annual youth budget.

What You'll Do // A Week in the Life of the Associate Pastor
Youth (25-30 Hours Per Week)
Plan the weekly youth gathering on Wednesday evenings: sermon series, games, snacks, announcements, and life group questions. Prepare gospel-centered sermons for weekly youth gatherings. Engage current and prospective students with the gospel, building relationships, and promoting a culture of discipleship and evangelism. Represent the church through active involvement in local schools and community activities. Room to substitute teach would be allowed (encouraged) to develop relationships with schools. Meet weekly with the Lead Pastor and elders for encouragement, accountability, and prayer. Set-up and tear down of the Auditorium for various events.
Other (10-20 Hours Per Week)
Based on your skills and experience we would add a secondary role as mentioned above.
What We Expect // Qualifications
A strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a commitment to the vision, mission and values of Westwind Church and Westwind's Statement of Beliefs. Meets the biblical qualification for an elder as found in 1 Timothy 3 ,Titus 1, and 1 Peter 5 or willing to go through process of becoming an elder. Bachelor's degree required. Previous experience in youth ministry, preparing and delivering sermons, and leading volunteers. Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
About Westwind Church // Location, History, and Potential
Westwind Church was planted in 2008 with a desire to reach the growing population in Waukee (west of Des Moines). Waukee is located in Dallas County, Iowa and is one of the fastest growing counties in the nation. Throughout our history Westwind has emphasized discipleship, mobilization, and church planting and have been apart of numerous church plants.
