Job Description:
Church of the Apostles Houston is seeking an Associate Rector to serve as a senior clergy leader alongside the Rector during an exciting season of growth.
Apostles is a growing Anglican parish in Houston's Inner Loop, rooted in the gospel, shaped by the Anglican tradition, and sent out for the glory of God and the life of the world. Our worship and theology reflect Anglicanism's three streams, holding together evangelical conviction, sacramental worship, and expectancy for the present work of the Holy Spirit.
The Associate Rector will provide pastoral oversight, spiritual formation, and organizational leadership across the life of the parish. As a member of the Senior Staff Team, this leader will help strengthen adult discipleship, pastoral care, outreach, and evangelism while developing staff and lay leaders and helping translate vision into sustainable ministry.
Position Qualifications:
Qualifications include:
• Ordained priest in good standing within the Anglican Church in North America, domiciled in the Anglican Diocese of the Carolinas or eligible for licensing and transfer.
• M.Div. or equivalent theological degree.
• Minimum of five years of pastoral or ministry leadership experience, preferably in a parish context.
• Demonstrated excellence in preaching, teaching, and pastoral care.
• Proven ability to supervise and develop staff or lay ministry teams.
• Strong strategic thinking, communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Joyful alignment with the theological convictions, Anglican identity, and vision of Apostles Houston.
