Mt. Gilead Baptist Church seeks a bi-vocational Southern Baptist pastor, who is dedicated to scripture-based teachings, to lead the congregation on Sunday mornings, Wednesday evenings, and church business meetings. Mt. Gilead is a small, rural church established in 1850 by local families. Other services include visitation with ill or injured members, Biblically-lead counseling, attendance at Taylor Baptist and FL Baptist events, and community involvement. Job Description

The pastor is in charge of leading the church. We are a small, rural church, so working toward growth is important while also ensuring that existing members are encouraged, unified, and taught Biblical truths. The pastor will preach on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings. Church business meetings are held at least quarterly after church on Sundays, and the pastor would lead those meetings. The Taylor Baptist Convention and FL Baptist Convention hold regular events that the pastor would be expected to attend. Visitation with ill or injured members and providing Biblically-based counseling for those with a spiritual challenge is also part of this pastor position. There are currently three deacons to provide assistance.
