Bi-vocational Pastor

Job Overview

Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Orleans, Indiana is seeking a Bi-vocational Pastor to lead our congregation. We are looking for a man called by God to preach the Gospel, shepherd our church family, and help us grow spiritually while serving alongside church leadership.

Responsibilities

• Preach and teach the Word of God
• Provide spiritual leadership and guidance to the congregation
• Offer pastoral care, including visiting the sick and those in need
• Lead baptisms, weddings, funerals, and the Lord's Supper
• Work with deacons and church leaders to support church ministries
• Encourage evangelism, discipleship, and community outreach

Job Description

Qualifications

• A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a calling to pastoral ministry
• Agreement with Baptist doctrine and the church's statement of faith (located on Mt. Pleasant's website under About Us: https://mtpleasantorleans.org/
• Ability to effectively preach and teach the Bible
• A servant's heart and desire to shepherd a rural congregation
• Pastoral or ministry experience preferred

Additional Information

• This is a bivocational position, allowing the pastor to maintain outside employment while serving the church.
• Mt. Pleasant has a parsonage available if desired.
• Compensation and benefits will be discussed with qualified candidates.
