Bi-Vocational Pastor

Pigeon River Baptist Church is prayerfully seeking the man God is calling to serve as our next bi-vocational pastor. We are a Southern Baptist church located in the beautiful rural community of Vanderbilt, Michigan, just north of Gaylord and one hour south of the Mackinac Bridge along I-75.
Established in 1997, our church is committed to the authority of God's Word, the preaching of the Gospel, and reaching our community for Christ. We are a warm, multigenerational congregation that values both traditional hymns and contemporary praise songs in worship. We adhere to the Southern Baptist Convention, Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
God has blessed our church with a strong foundation, faithful attendance in worship and Sunday School, active children's ministries, community outreach opportunities, and a weekly Bible study conducted via Zoom. Our faithful members love the authenticity and family feel of those who attend.
We are excited about what God has in store for our future and are seeking a pastor who will help us continue growing spiritually and reaching others with the Gospel.
Our current pastor has faithfully served since 2009 and is retiring from the pastorate while remaining in the area. He is committed to supporting and encouraging the next pastor during this transition.
Qualifications and Responsibilities
We are seeking a pastor who:
Has a clear calling from God to pastoral ministry.
Faithfully preaches and teaches God's Word.
Provides spiritual leadership and pastoral care for the congregation.
Supports and leads evangelism, community outreach, and missions efforts.
Works alongside church leadership to help our church fulfill the Great Commission.
Is willing to lead congregational music during worship until a worship leader is called.
Previous pastoral experience and/or seminary training is welcomed but not required.
Our Vision
We are praying for a pastor who has a heart for discipleship, evangelism, and community engagement. We desire to see our church continue to grow through sharing the Gospel, strengthening ministries, and reaching families in our community with the love of Christ.
If you believe God may be leading you to serve at Pigeon River Baptist Church, we would love to hear from you.
