- Faithfully prepare and expository preach God's Word week by week, with emphasis on verse-by-verse exposition.
- Coordinate worship services with other leaders, emphasizing congregational singing and participatory liturgy (Scripture reading, creeds, catechisms, prayers).
- Lead in the administration of the Lord's Supper weekly, with openness to both Baptist and Presbyterian convictions (memorial or spiritual presence view).
- Cultivate meaningful relationships with members and visitors, demonstration a genuine love for people, not just preaching.
- Encourage and sustain friendships within the body through hospitality, visitation, and pastoral care.
- Support families in family worship; embrace children as full participants in the life and worship of the church.
- Work with the elders/deacons to provide spiritual oversight and direction.
- Partner with other pastors and churches in Roswell for fellowship and gospel witness.
- Model personal evangelism and encourage outreach in the local community.
Job Description
- A clear testimony of faith in Christ and a life consistent with the gospel.
- A love for God's people expressed in relational care, not only in preaching.
- Commitment to the 5 Solas of the Reformation as a foundation for faith and practice.
- Ability to honor interdenominational unity in the gospel, particularly between Reformed Baptists and Presbyterians.
- Agreement with the Westminster Confessional of Faith (WCF) and the Second London Baptist Confession (2LBCF) as core documents of belief and practice, while seeking to reconcile and unite Reformed evangelicals around shared convictions.
- Conviction that children are part of the church and should be included in worship.
- Willingness to accommodate faithful Christians in various stages of their faith walk to solemnly observe the Lord's Supper.
- The candidate must be a proponent of expedient baptism of those with sincere profession of faith, as well as the reverent conduct the Lord's Supper as a beautiful picture of the gracious gospel which welcome repentant sinners as completely justified and joyful accepted by God. The candidate must also be able to exercise and encourage Matthew 18:15-20 in a spirit of gentleness and love, with the goal of restoring fellowship and winning back those who need correction.
- Demonstrated gifting in preaching and teaching with prior pastoral or preaching experience preferred.
- Ability to serve in a bi vocational role (outside employment or tent making alongside pastoral ministry).
