Pittsburgh Baptist Church is seeking a bivocational pastor who holds a formal education including a Master's degree from seminary. We prefer a candidate who is energetic, currently married, and who brings at least 6-10 years of pastoral experience.
The strengths our congregation values most in our next pastor are exceptional preaching and strong leadership. We are looking for someone who will prioritize sermon preparation and prayer, and who is committed to counseling individuals through personal and spiritual challenges.
Our congregation values an expositional preaching style not in the Reformed tradition, following a logical, detailed, and point-by-point sequence, grounded in Scripture, so that the text itself provides the meaning. We appreciate extended study through Bible book series and sermon series that allow for deep engagement with God's Word over multiple weeks.
Our top ministry priorities for the incoming pastor are evangelism — actively showing Jesus through word and action — alongside discipleship and spiritual formation, building meaningful relationships within our congregation, and a commitment to corporate and personal prayer.
Pittsburgh Baptist Church is a non-Reformed traditional Southern Baptist church, part of the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC), seeking a pastor who is also a member of the SBC.
