Connection Church Spearfish is excited to announce a unique opportunity for a Pastor to launch and lead our Sturgis campus.

We are seeking a passionate, visionary leader to serve as the Campus Pastor (CP).

Role Overview:

As Campus Pastor, you will play a pivotal role in the launch of our new campus in Sturgis, providing pastoral leadership and direction (in conjunction with the Senior Pastor SP of Connection Church Spearfish) for Connection Church Sturgis, in alignment with the vision, values, and purpose of Connection Church Spearfish. You will be responsible for overseeing the spiritual life and growth of the Sturgis campus, under the guidance and leadership of the Senior Pastor of Connection Church Spearfish.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Vision: You will lead in the launch process, ensuring the Sturgis Campus aligns with the overall values, vision, and purpose of Connection Church Spearfish. You will be responsible for developing and leading the team to carry out that vision.Pastoral Care: As the Campus Pastor, you will provide pastoral leadership to the congregation in Sturgis. This includes overseeing the spiritual care of the flock, offering guidance, prayer, and counsel as needed, and nurturing the spiritual growth of all who attend.Community Engagement & Outreach: You will plan, lead, and execute community outreach initiatives, building connections within Sturgis and fostering a church culture that is deeply rooted in service and outreach.Preaching & Teaching: You will be responsible for preparing and delivering weekly sermons and teaching, maintaining the doctrinal integrity and mission of Connection Church Spearfish while meeting the unique needs of the Sturgis campus.Staff Development: A key aspect of this role will be identifying key staff and leadership teams that align with the vision and beliefs of Connection Church Spearfish. You will invest in the leadership development of those around you, ensuring a healthy and growing team culture.

Responsibilities

1. Model Biblical Character

The Campus Pastor is responsible for living out the Christian life, modeling the characteristics of an elder, and carrying out the purpose of the Church. The CP should have a growing relationship with Christ. The CP will model a strong relationship with his or her spouse (if married) and children (if applicable). The CP will strive to fulfill his or her purpose in life and ministry while demonstrating integrity in words, relationships, and actions.

These objectives are accomplished by:

• Committing to a daily quiet-time with God.

• Participating in staff Bible studies and prayer.

• Participating in a Connect and/or Grow Group on a regular basis.

• Setting appropriate boundaries to protect character and integrity.

• Developing personal evangelism opportunities within and outside the church.

• Adhering to and encompassing the qualities and characteristics required of an elder as found in Timothy and Titus.

2. Strategic Leadership and Planning

The Campus Pastor will be responsible for championing Connection Church Sturgis launch efforts and championing Connection Church's purpose and PATH at the campus location. The CP will assist the SP in strategic planning and staff coordination in the execution of the church's purpose. The CP will lead the campus in accomplishing goals and action plans established by the CP, SP, and Board of Elders. The CP will lead the Campus Church to remain true to its purpose.

This leadership and input will be provided through many activities including:

• The CP will be a part of the Sending Church (Connection Church Spearfish) Pastoral staff. The CP will be required to be at all staff meetings, elder meetings, retreats, etc. of the Sending Church. Leadership and planning for the Campus Church will be done under the leadership of the SP and the other elders of Connection Church Spearfish.

• The CP will be in charge of implementing and leading staff meetings at the Campus Church as needed to clarify and execute Connection Church Leads goals and objectives.

• Monitoring and reporting the pulse of the congregation through research and evaluation of attendance, giving, small group participation, baptisms, volunteer engagement, community transformation, etc.

• Ensuring staffing, facilities and programs are appropriately and effectively aligned with our Church purpose and to best meet strategic goals.

• Managing the campus budget and providing oversight and direction in the large variety of financial functions of the church including: stewardship campaigns, cash flow, contributions, payroll, leases, and budget development. (in cooperation with our accountant)

• Fulfilling other pastoral/administrative duties (weddings, funerals, baptisms, child dedications, counseling, etc.) or other tasks which might not be considered part of the normal job description.

3. Oversight of the Church Plant

The Campus Pastor, in conjunction with the SP, is responsible for leading the planting of this new Church. The CP must have a calling and a passion for Church Planting. The CP must display a desire to reach the lost in his own life as evidenced through a regular sharing of the Gospel with the lost around him. The CP will need to be an outgoing person with the ability to develop relationships with new neighbors, a new community, and the leadership, businesses, organizations of this new community.

To accomplish these objectives the CP will need to do the following:

• The CP will need to devote regular time weekly developing relationships in his new community with neighbors, business leaders, community leaders, and more.

• The CP will need to become a student of his new community in order to develop strategies for reaching the community with the Gospel.

• The CP will possess the ability to communicate his vision of reaching the lost in his community to others and equip and lead others to join him on this mission.

4. Oversight of Campus Worship Experiences

The Campus Pastor is responsible for ensuring that all worship services are Biblical, that the preaching is faithful to God's Word, that music is God honoring, and that the entire service is executed with excellence. The CP must display excellent communication skills, the ability to make sound decisions, high level networking and relational strengths that enhance each worship experience.

These objectives are accomplished by:

• Delivering relevant, Biblical messages (expositional preaching).

• Teaching and leading in small, medium, and large group settings.

• Working with the worship leader to ensure that all music is God honoring.

• Planning and executing worship and other creative elements to complement the teaching in each ministry environment.

5. Staff Supervision and Development

The Campus Pastor will provide leadership to the campus staff team. The CP will lead, evaluate, and mentor existing staff in their respective areas of ministry and prioritize future staffing needs.

The objectives are accomplished through the following responsibilities:

• Supervising the campus staff leadership team as it relates to day-to-day ministry and operational activities.

• Empowering staff and volunteer leaders to lead the ministries and operations.

• Providing coaching to the staff in the design and implementation of all church ministries, including periodically evaluating appropriate changes to organizational structure to reflect ministry strategy.

Demonstrates a passion for reaching the lost.

Possesses excellent organizational skills.

Possesses excellent computer skills and proficiency with social media and digital media.Demonstrates a vision, passion, and calling to Church Planting.

Strong ability to teach the Word.

Strong ability to lead, communicate, plan, organize and delegate effectively.

Ability to develop and work within ministry teams.

Ability to develop and nurture relationships with all adults in the church.

Minimum of Bachelors of Ministry. Masters preferred

Affirm the Baptist, Faith and Message 2000

Pay Package:

$60k-$70k a year
