Job Description: Children and Youth Director or Pastor

Redeemer Church of Arlington– Arlington, VA

JOB DESCRIPTION

This role will advance our mission to make disciples of the next generation by helping kids find their place in God's story through the leadership of Redeemer Kids, establishing a discipleship environment for middle and high school students, and equipping parents as the primary disciple-makers of their children.

The ideal candidate will be gifted at building and leading teams and highly organized and attentive to details in order to help this ministry thrive in our dynamic environment.

This is a salaried position and may be full-time or part-time, depending on the candidate's experience, availability, and calling. We welcome applicants from a range of ministry experience levels. The scope of responsibilities (and potential pastoral designation) will be shaped around the individual's gifts, maturity, and the church's needs.

  • Self-Starter & Hard Worker – Takes initiative and follows through with diligence.
  • Doer & Equipper – Takes a hands-on role in carrying out the ministry, but understands that their role is not only to do the ministry, but to equip the saints.
  • Team Player – Prioritizes collaboration and humility, sharing their perspective passionately, but supports the final decision. Does not have to always have their way.
  • Adaptable & Resilient – Comfortable navigating change, energized by problem-solving, and emotionally resilient when faced with challenges.
  • Honest & Honoring – Acts and speaks with integrity and shows respect for God, leaders, and team members. Communicates with radical candor – showing genuine concern for others while delivering honest feedback that's not sugar coated or barbed.
  • Clear Communicator – Communicates God's Word clearly and engagingly to children, youth, volunteers, and parents. Responds to correspondence with timeliness and clarity.
  • Innovator & Integrator – Brings fresh ideas to their areas of ministry while maintaining alignment with the church's overall vision and philosophy.
  • Present & Engaged – Actively participates in the life of Redeemer and prioritizes physical proximity to and presence with our church family and community.

  • Lifelong Learner – Desires feedback and is committed to personal/professional growth.

Description of Organization

Planted in 2010, Redeemer Church of Arlington was established by a group of men and women committed to reaching Arlington and its surrounding communities with the gospel by building a church that loves the gospel.

Our Mission

We love Jesus. We make disciples who follow Him into His Word, His world, and His family.

We are happily unoriginal in our mission - because every church has received the same commission from Jesus in Matthew 28:18-20. To go and make disciples!

Our Vision

We see God doing a great work through us: transforming people, loving neighbors and neighborhoods, and proclaiming the gospel in our city and around the world.

As we follow Him, we expect to see Jesus changing lives, changing our city, and changing the world as the gospel takes root in us and bears fruit through us.
