Position Summary

The Director of Children's Ministries is a part-time position and shall be responsible for the oversight of Children's Ministry (birth through fifth grade). This includes planning, coordinating, promoting and implementing the ministry's vision and plan. The primary role will be to recruit, train, and develop leaders who will intentionally disciple children, partner with parents, and implement the ministry's plan and vision.

Key Responsibilities

A. Develop a clear vision and ministry plan for the Children's ministry ensuring that our children are growing in worship, discipleship, fellowship, ministry, and evangelism.

B. Direct oversight for the following key areas of ministry:

  • Children's Sunday School,
  • Children's Church
  • Wednesday Night activities (currently Awana)
  • Vacation Bible School,
  • Partner in major church outreach events (ex. Fall Festival, Easter Egg Hunt, Christmas Events, and Fall Kickoff) and lead the church in local school outreach programs (ex. Bible Club).

C. Shall be a hands-on leader proving to be a model for all children's ministry volunteers.

D. Shall be responsible for recruiting, training and development of adult leaders and volunteers for the ministry. Furthermore, instilling in them the vision and plan for the ministry so that they will have a heart for and clear direction of how to disciple our children.

E. Shall lead the Children's Ministry Team who will consist of key leaders who purpose is to assist the Director in implementing the vision and plan, and to help ensure all facets are the ministry are serving to disciple our Children essentially acting as an extension of the Director.

F. Shall Promote, staff, and oversee ministry into our local schools.

G. Shall oversee and promote Children led mission opportunities such as Operation Christmas Child.

H. Shall recruit and train nursery workers. Furthermore, this will include having these workers maintain the cleanliness and readiness of the nursery facilities.

Qualifications

A growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Experience working with children in a church or educational setting. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to recruit and lead volunteers effectively. Background check required. Preferred Qualifications

Degree or coursework in Children's Ministry, Education, or a related field. Familiarity with Awana and Lifeway Curriculums.
