Children’s Director

Job Overview

Principal Function: 1. Under the direct supervision of the Discipleship Pastor of GSBC. 2. The Director for Children's Ministry is responsible for the spiritual health of the children's ministry (grades 1-5) and their families by providing administrative, directional, and spiritual leadership in accordance with the mission, vision, and core values of GSBC. 3. The director will work to establish a discipleship strategy for the children and their parents.

Job Description

General Responsibilities: 1. Be an Active personal witness for Jesus Christ. 2. Give spiritual leadership to the children's ministry leaders through ministerial care. 3. Give administrative and directional leadership to the children's ministry leaders through equipping and training opportunities. 4. Give managerial leadership to administrative assistant and summer interns. 5. Give leadership to the structure and planning of children's connection classes. 6. Give leadership in coordinating children's programs and volunteer leadership as well as providing appropriate supervision. 7. Oversee and maintain the clubhouse and children's ministry classrooms. 8. Develop a comprehensive ministry to parents by offering classes, resources, and seminars. 9. Assist with promoting and implementing the mission, vision, and core values of GSBC. 10. Plan and give leadership to VBS and children's ministry summer program including camps. 11. Develop and implement a plan for identification, recruitment, and training of future children's ministry leaders. 12. Evaluate children's curriculum for both age and spiritual maturity. 13. Establish a foundational strategy for the children's ministry built on biblical foundations. 2023/09/15pls 14. Give leadership to guest cultivation as well as conducting evangelistic interviews with children and their families. 15. Establish a ministry to parents of children. 16. Effectively manage the "Calendar of Events" for the Children's Ministry, insuring that all events are on the overall church calendar with ample time for planning and executing with excellence. 17. Effectively prepare annual budget for area of responsibility and control expenditures to stay within the approved annual budget. 18. Assist with special projects throughout the year as assigned by the Senior Pastor. 19. Give ministerial leadership in the areas of biblical discipleship, counseling, and biblical stewardship.
