Children’s Ministry Coordinator
Job Overview
The desire of New Life Christian Alliance Church is to build a strong foundation to carry on a vibrant and thriving legacy of faith in Jesus Christ from one generation to the next (Psalm 145:4). We are a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic and multi-lingual church community with two Sunday services. The church operates under a complementarian and elder-led form of church governance. It is committed to an expository preaching style with the study of God's word as the focus of its sermons and separate bible study sessions. And committed to the overall mission of the Christian and Missionary Alliance to fulfill the great commission by supporting efforts to bring the gospel to all peoples both at home and abroad.
The primary role of this position is to serve as the point person to oversee, develop and coordinate the children's ministries at the church. The coordinator is expected to work with other pastoral staff and volunteers to engage in discipling and teaching pre-school through elementary-aged children.
This ministry position is a part-time position with a monthly salary range of $1000-$1700, but has potential for growth as the ministry grows. A specific compensation offer will be tailored to the experience, capability and expected hours of ministry for any selected candidate.
Job Description
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF POSITION
To re-envision and re-develop the Sunday morning children's program at the church. The coordinator will be initially charged with working with the pastoral staff and parents to develop a new vision for the Sunday morning children's program with the goal of adapting the program to reach children and families from a diverse, multicultural, multilingual and socioeconomic background.
To train and coordinate the volunteers for the Sunday children's ministry program. The church currently has a committed pool of volunteers serving in our Sunday morning children's ministry. The coordinator will be expected to train these volunteers to adapt to any newly developed program as well as coordinate volunteer schedules throughout the year. The coordinator should also be prepared to teach or assist with Sunday morning children's ministry classes where needed.
To occasionally coordinate with ministry partners regarding events focused on ministering to children. The church currently has ongoing ministry partnerships to occasionally host or supply volunteers for evangelistic and outreach events intended for children. The coordinator is not expected to plan these events, but should assist with scheduling/coordinating volunteers where needed.
To be an integral member of the church body and exemplar of Christian values. This position is not a pastoral position or a church office.
