Children's Ministry Director

Our church, First Baptist Church Somerville, TN is prayerfully seeking a caring, dependable, and spiritually mature Children's Ministry Director to lead and to continue to grow our ministry to children and their families. This person will help maintain and continue development of a safe, welcoming, and Christ-centered environment where children ages birth through sixth grade can learn about God and His Word, become devoted followers of Jesus Christ, and build friendships.

Key Responsibilities· Plan, coordinate, and oversee children's ministry programs, including Sunday mornings, Wednesday evenings, mission opportunities and special events.

· Recruit, train, schedule, and encourage volunteers who serve with children.

· Select or develop age-appropriate, curriculum and activities working with the Nursery and Children's ministry committees.

· Maintain a safe, clean, and organized ministry environment for all children.

· Communicate regularly with parents, volunteers, church staff, and leadership.

· Support outreach opportunities that help families feel connected to the church.

· Support FBC children in their activities beyond the church by attending school and extracurricular events.

· Assist in the development and oversight of the Nursery and Children's Ministry budgets.

· Seek to integrate Children's ministry into all phases of church life.

· Attend worship services, Sunday School and discipleship events, Wednesday evening Children's Ministry activities and weekly staff meetings.

Qualifications· A clear commitment to Jesus Christ and the mission of the church.

· A heart for children and families, with the ability to teach and lead. with patience and joy.

· Experience working with children in a church, school, childcare, or ministry setting.

· Experience in a leadership role

· Strong communication, planning, organization, and teamwork skills.
