First Baptist Church Blountville, TN Children's Pastor (Male) or Director (Female) Job Description Position Overview First Baptist Church Blountville, a Tennessee Southern Baptist congregation located in the beautiful foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in Blountville, Tennessee, is seeking a dedicated and passionate Children's Pastor/Director to lead our children's ministry with a heart for God and a commitment to serve. The ideal candidate will embody strong Christian values, possess leadership skills, and be deeply committed to the spiritual growth of children within our church community and the broader Blountville area. This position is salaried and full-time, serving a congregation of 350 active members, which requires the pastor/director to be located in the Tri-Cities, TN/ Southwest, VA area. Key responsibilities Theological and Spiritual Leadership: ● Skillfully teach and communicate God's truth as the primary children's preacher/teacher, making complex concepts accessible and engaging for children in the nursery through 5th grade. ● Model a vibrant faith and seek God's will in all ministry decisions, maintaining strong personal and professional Christian accountability to the church and community. Be accountable to personal spiritual growth, the spiritual growth of the children's ministry, and community outreach. ● Demonstrate Godly character (patient and humble) and a deep servant heart, maintaining a solid personal testimony. ● Ensure all ministry teaching aligns with Southern Baptist doctrine and possess an in-depth knowledge of the Bible.

Program Development and Execution: ● Bring a creative, innovative, and visionary perspective to the ministry, developing a clear, compelling vision for reaching and discipling children. ● Function as both a skilled strategic planner and a practical executor, possessing the initiative to identify needs and work effectively to fill them. ● Organize and delegate responsibilities effectively to ensure the smooth operation of all children's ministry programs. ● Manage basic business acumen, including setting and tracking the ministry budget.

Teamwork and Professionalism: ● Demonstrate a committed mindset, strong leadership skills, and an organized approach to all responsibilities. ● Collaborate successfully as an integral team player with church staff , volunteers, and church leadership. ● Handle adversity well and maintain composure during challenges. ● Actively utilize technology to effectively enhance and extend ministry outreach to children.

Care and Attitude: ● Exhibit a natural warmth, charisma, and encouraging, nurturing demeanor toward all children and families, possessing a genuine "kid at heart" attitude. Be optimistic/upbeat and bring positive energy to the ministry with a good sense of humor. ● Be an effective communicator with children, parents, and church leadership. ● Be capable of setting healthy boundaries and providing necessary discipline with love.

Qualifications: ● Experience in children's ministry or working with children/students in a church setting. ● Post high school education is preferred.

Position Details: ● Position requires candidate to reside in the Tri-Cities, TN/ Southwest, VA area. ● The employee is expected to be a good steward of their time, understanding this is a full-time position, sometimes requiring extended hours.
